FINANCIAL WELLBEING COMMITTEE

The Financial Wellbeing Committee under Campus Wellbeing is a multidisciplinary team of students, staff and faculty who work together to provide programs, services and resources to improve the financial wellbeing of the campus community members. RETIREMENT PLANS

Generally, employees at Cal Poly are required to be enrolled in one of two retirement plans: CalPERS (California Public Employee Retirement System) or PST (Part time, Seasonal, Temporary). LIFEMATTERS BY EMPATHIA

Cal Poly employees may receive financial consultation with a financial counselor through LifeMatters, the Employee Assistance Program. The financial counselor can provide consultation regarding the following items: Budgeting, credit report review or correction, information on mortgages, loans, and other financial arrangements, debt management and consolidation, college or retirement planning. PAYROLL

Payroll Services is responsible for auditing all state paychecks and direct deposit payroll, for Faculty, Staff, and Students at Cal Poly in accordance with State and CSU policies and procedures. The Payroll Services office is also responsible for the maintenance of leave accounting records and leave balances and all related reporting. VOLUNTARY RETIREMENT SAVING (TAX DEFERRED SAVINGS)

There are different programs that eligible employees to save toward retirement by investing pre-tax contributions in tax-deferred investments. These contributions are made through payroll deductions, prior to federal and state taxes being calculated.
